Volunteers in Flagstaff International Relief Effort (F.I.R.E.) have been holding packing parties every Sunday in a rush to prepare clothing for shipment by sea to the needy in Mongolia on Thursday, Sept. 2.
Response to a number of clothing drives has been excellent, but the call for help packing has been spotty recently.
Packing parties are every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Horizon Moving Systems, 2707 E. Huntington, until all the clothing and other relief goods are packed.
Organizers will also still be collecting winter clothes, blankets, bedding, crutches, wheelchairs, big pieces of fabric, stuffed animals, medical supplies (syringes, bandages, supplements, etc.), sleeping bags in good condition and toys for children that don't require batteries.
For more information and detailed directions to the packing party, call Meredith Potts, F.I.R.E. executive director, at David Edwards photography studio, 779-1966.
