Accounts Payable Coordinator #604520 • • • • • • • • • Coordinates and supervises the activities of the Accounting Specialists and student workers. Process workload for invoices, specialized payments; check request, expense reports, etc. Participate in periodic campus and departmental audits. Interpret policy for both campus representatives and vendors. Analyzes, resolves and answers complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates and university staff, students, faculty or vendors. Recommends and assists in implementing changes to departmental policy or procedure to ensure integrity of the related systems. Reviews statistical reports submitted by staff to monitor activities, anticipate problems and ensure accurate recording of transactions submitted to financial systems. Determines if financial and internal controls are adequate to meet management objectives and makes recommendations for improvements; recommends and implements security and system control procedures. Provide excellent customer service and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area AND one year in accounts payable, accounting or related experience which includes one year of supervisory experience; OR, • Five years of progressively responsible accounts payable, accounting or directly related experience which includes one year of supervisory experience; OR, • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources. Additional Info: Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations and procedures as they relate to purchasing and accounts payable. Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices. Knowledge of the application of data processing techniques relating to accounting systems. Knowledge of financial system software. Skill in public relations. Ability to effectively communicate. Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time. Ability to organize and keep accurate records with attention to details.The ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
