Moving on to the finals of their respective state championship meets, swimmers from Flagstaff, Northland Prep and Basis Flagstaff spent Friday afternoon in the pool.

Swimming at Skyline Aquatic Center in Mesa, the Flagstaff Eagles sent two of its girls relay teams into Saturday's Division II finals, as well as Ryan Wendel.

Wendel reached the finals in the 100-yard butterfly while the girls 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle advanced through the prelims as well.

At Phoenix Country Day School's Dady Aquatic Center in Paradise Valley, Northland Prep sent three girls and three boys relays teams into the final as well as seven individuals total.

The 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relays teams for both girls and boys moved through the Division III prelims. Justin Jarmer moved on in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breaststroke while Eric Heinonen reached the finals of the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Harrison Howie (100-yard freestyle) and Austin Kwan (100-yard backstroke) also reached their respective finals.

On the girls side, Hannah Penado (200-freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke) and Aurelia Umholtz (200-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly) each reached the finals in multiple events. Devin O'Brien also advanced through the prelims of the 100-yard breaststroke. Along with the swimmers, Emerson Quigley and Marcus Marquardt will five on the 1-meter board.

Joining Northland Prep in the D-III finals, Basis Flagstaff advanced its 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays teams into the final day. Abigael Conn qualified in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, while Ally Montgomery reached the 200-yard IM and Alexandra Henes joined Conn in the 500-yard freestyle.
