Completing a perfect regular season, the Northland Prep girls soccer team shut out the Payson Longhorns on Senior Day Friday at Sinagua Middle School.

The Spartans' trio of star freshmen Mia Blair, Ellie Karren and Kiarra Hovis each scored two goals in the 9-0 victory. Anna White, Emma Heitkamp and Emma Blair all added to the scoreboard as well, as Northland Prep sits at 12-0 entering the 2A Conference state tournament as the clear No. 1 seed.

Celebrating the team's five seniors, White, Heitkamp, Delaney Page, Brianna Hovis and Lauren James, Northland Prep subbed the group off the field together to cheers with four minutes left.

James started the match in goal, with Page playing an important role in the defense's ninth regular-season shutout as Northland Prep ended the regular season with an 80-3 goal differential.

Heitkamp added an assist, while Brianna Hovis came away with two in the match. Mia Blair finished with three assists to go with her two goals, with Payten Schmidt, Emma Blair and Kiarra Hovis all adding one assist each.

The state tournament begins Friday, with Northland Prep set to face the No. 4 seed in the semifinals. Both semifinals will be played at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert, beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The state final will be played the following day, also at Campo Verde at 3 p.m.
