Despite allowing a goal in the 11th minute, the No. 2 Flagstaff Eagles took control of the Grand Canyon Region with a 3-1 come-from-behind victory against the previously unbeaten No. 4 Prescott Badgers on Thursday.
Improving to 9-0 in the regular season and rallying from down one goal for the second straight game, Flagstaff scored three unanswered goals starting with Zalma Batrez-Cardoza's breakaway 16 minutes after Prescott (7-1) started the scoring. Samone Marquez had the assist on the tying shot.

Lyza Bosselmann had six saves for the Eagles in goal.
With just three matches remaining against a trio of schools outside the top 10 of the 4A Conference, Flagstaff is closing in on completing its second consecutive perfect regular season.
Hosting No. 16 Mohave on Tuesday, Flagstaff will close out the regular season against Saguaro and Mingus Union before likely hosting the first two rounds of the 4A state tournament on Jan. 30 and Feb. 3.
