Stephen Canizales hit a solo home run, Rylan DoBosh pitched 6 2/3 solid innings and added to his cause with two RBIs, and the Flagstaff Eagles continued their perfect start to the season with a 6-1 victory over the Prescott Badgers.
Flagstaff scored four runs in the second inning of the Grand Canyon Region ballgame, and Prescott's one earned run came in the bottom half. DoBosh, who was 2 for 3 at the plate with two extra base hits, struck out seven Badgers, gave up four hits and walked four before Jake Woods came in for the final out and helped the Eagles improve to 3-0 to start the regular season and the region slate.
Jimmy Guinan also had a 2-for-3 day with a run scored for the Eagles, who had six different runners come home and eight of their total hitters connect for at least one hit. DoBosh led the way for the order with a double and a triple.
Flagstaff will take a break from region action when it takes on the Peoria Panthers for a 4A Conference ballgame Tuesday in Peoria.
