Bouncing back from Tuesday's loss to their crosstown rival, the No. 8 Coconino Panthers topped the No. 24 Lee Williams Volunteers in four sets at home on Thursday.

Scoring a 25-12, 15-25, 25-21, 25-19 victory, the 4A Conference Panthers improved to 8-3 overall this season and 6-1 in the Grand Canyon Region, only trailing the No. 7 Flagstaff Eagles. The victory completed the season sweep for the Panthers over the Volunteers, with matches against each of the region's other five teams remaining on the schedule.

Coconino will see a pair of potential playoff teams next week, hosting the No. 14 Prescott Badgers on Tuesday before traveling to the Valley for a match against the No. 16 St. Mary's Knights on Wednesday.

PHOENIX COUNTRY DAY 5, NORTHLAND PREP 1

Facing one of the 2A's best teams, the No. 16 Northland Prep Spartans (3-7-1) fell to the No. 4 Phoenix Country Day Eagles (7-1-1) at home Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles, topping 10 goals in all six of their other wins, produced their lowest-scoring output in a victory this season.

The Spartans host the No. 6 Show Low Cougars (4-2-1) on Saturday at 11 a.m.
