Moving to just two wins away from defending their state championship, the Flagstaff Girls Softball Little League Junior All-Stars beat Coolidge 10-3 Wednesday in Queen Creek.

Now 3-0 in the 10-team state tournament, Flagstaff will face Apache Junction Thursday at 5:45 p.m. for a place in the state finals. Another win would allow Flagstaff to get a break from playing for two days, with the finals being played Sunday evening. Entering Sunday with an undefeated record would give Flagstaff two chances to win one game for the title, first playing at 6 p.m. and then again, if needed, at 8 p.m.

Coolidge committed six errors while Flagstaff's offense put up 11 hits on the way to the win. Flagstaff's defense finished with five errors behind Maggie Auza, but the pitcher limited the damage with eight strikeouts.

Andi Elliot finished with two hits for Flagstaff and Marissa Foster scored a pair of the team's runs.
