After four seasons at the helm of the Coconino Panthers, head coach Jeremiah Smith will not return to the team in 2018.

Electing to step down from the position, according to Coconino athletic director Eric Freas, Smith departs the Panthers with a win against rival Flagstaff in his final game, 12-10. Coupled with a win against Flagstaff in his first season, 22-13 in 2014, Smith finished .500 against the Eagles.

Coconino hopes to make a new hire as soon as possible to replace Smith, who finished 10-30 in his four-year tenure after replacing George Moate, whose team was 1-9 in his final season in 2013.
