One of the all-time greats in NAU women's basketball is coming back to Flagstaff.
The Lumberjacks added former star Laura Dinkins to their coaching staff for the 2010-11 season, naming her as an assistant under head coach Laurie Kelly.
Dinkins returns to the Jacks after playing professional basketball for two years in Germany and the Netherlands.
"I am very excited about the addition of Laura Dinkins to our staff," Kelly said in a release. "She brings so much to our program in different areas. She is a former NAU basketball player and understands what it takes to win in the Big Sky."
During her collegiate career, Dinkins was awarded the Big Sky Conference's Defensive Player of the Year after her junior season and was named to the All-Big Sky second team as a senior.
In 2008, she closed her NAU career as the second all-time leading rebounder in program history with 714 boards and her 252 rebounds in a single season was also second-best in school history. She ranks first in career minutes played with 1,144.
Dinkins was a four-time NAU Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete and Big Sky All-Academic recipient in 2004.
Most recently, she helped lead Germany's Chem Cats to a Division II championship.
