The Phoenix Suns will hold a week-long training session at Northern Arizona University at the beginning of October, returning to Flagstaff for the second straight year.
After a week of practices from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, the team will hold a public intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Skydome. The schedule mirrors that of last fall’s, when the team returned to the school for the first time since 2004. The Suns first trained at the altitude in Flagstaff in 1986, when current head coach Jeff Hornacek was in his rookie season with the team.
The Suns open the preseason at home on Oct. 8 against Flamengo, a Brazilian professional team.
