I live and work at the corner of North Leroux Street and Elm Avenue downtown and have been watching people consistently run our stop sign since the June construction start on Beaver Street. I don’t know where people get off thinking we are not handling our share of traffic. We presently have thousands of cars and construction trucks coming up and down Leroux daily.
As of Oct. 6, hundreds of more cars will be descending on our street to park when the new meters take effect downtown. Dale Avenue will also be closing soon in October for four weeks of construction. (Hint: Leave your house 5 minutes earlier and go up around the Hospital and down Beaver Street to Columbus, turn left and then right onto North Leroux. That’s what I do to get back to my house.)
We have hundreds of children, bikes and pedestrians using North Leroux all day and night. Please be respectful and drive with caution through our neighborhood!
