Regarding Monuments and History: Let's be historically accurate when describing the significance of these "beautiful and historic monuments" that our President and many others around the country want to keep. For example: The plaque on a statue of Robert E Lee could read: Confederate General, seceded from the Union, fought against the united states and fellow Americans to profit from slavery, owned , ill-treated and beat slaves.  George Washington: 1st president of the United States, president of the continental congress, general who fought the British to win the  war of independence, Virginia plantation owner, slave owner. If our monuments are erected to educate and enlighten then we need to be honest about who and why they are there.
