To me, it is terrifying to hear President Trump’s belligerent talk about North Korea and Iran. Such threatening talk reminds me of Third World dictators, including Hugo Chavez, Muammar Gaddafi, and Manuel Noriega.
Trump talks like he is trying to provoke Kim Jung Un into attacking the U.S. This could result in the deaths of 25 million to 100 million (or more) people, including Americans. Then he lambasted the accord to stop Iran’s nuclear weapons program. If Trump has his way, we will not only have North Korea to be of concern, but also Iran.
The only way to contain North Korea is through China, with world cooperation. Trump continues to alienate China and other countries with his tweets and other comments. The survival of our nation, as we know it, (and, maybe the world) depends on reining in Trump.
I urge all to consider measures to limit Trump’s power to conduct war. The Congress must reassert its Constitutional responsibility (Article 1, Section 8) that only it has the power to declare war.
