It was distressing to read the article in the Daily Sun about Senators Flake and McClain hanging tough. What they were really being congratulated on was their opposition to President Trump.
The tens of millions of us who voted for President Trump want the swamp drained; we want the wall built; we want a president who is proud to be an American; we want our health care in our hands and the hands of our doctors; we want a stop to illegal immigration (please read the word "illegal"); we want strict constructionists on the Supreme Court; we want America to be great again; we want our president not to be part of the establishment. No one in the Washington elite, not even the Clintons or the Bushes, have a divine right to the presidency of the United States.
Those who ran against him in primaries and Clinton who ran against him (and lost - so get over it) were all members of the establishment. What had to go through their minds was "how dare an outsider challenge the establishment." President Trump not only had the audacity to run for president, he had the audacity to win.
The establishment cannot let this president succeed. Thus we have the resistance movement. This resistance movement is on both sides of the aisle and in both houses of Congress.
Those of us who support the president won't forget what Flake is doing in Washington when he comes forward in the primary season.
