NAME: Alex Carrillo

AKA: "Chicano"

CHARGES: Attempted first-degree murder; two counts of firing a gun in city limits ("Shannon's Law"); five counts of endangerment; one count each of participating in a criminal syndicate, threatening and intimidating, disorderly conduct-fighting, and disorderly conduct-with a deadly weapon.

AGE: 21

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'6/140

OTHER: Scars on left hand. Tattoo of three dots on left hand.

THE CASE: On May 8, 2006, Carrillo, then 19, allegedly shot a 17-year-old boy in the neck during a scuffle in the old Price Choppers parking lot on North Fourth Street. Carrillo first allegedly fired two shots into the air from a handgun, and when the fight continued, pointed the gun at the back of the victim's head and fired. Police said the victim nearly died. Investigators also considered the shooting gang-related.

NAME: Oscar Rodriguez Sanchez

CHARGES: Sexual conduct with a minor (two counts).

AGE: 24

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'8/200

THE CASE: Sanchez allegedly had sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl. Warrant issued January 2008.

NAME: Mario Meza-Cortez

AKA: Mario Alberto Sanchez Cortez

CHARGES: Armed robbery, aggravated assault, theft.

AGE: 31

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'/180-200

OTHER: Tattoos of St. Jude on chest, female name on leg, possible name on back.

THE CASE: On Oct. 28, two men ambushed a lone employee closing up shop at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on East Route 66. They pistol-whipped the man, forced him to open the safe and bound him with tape. On Nov. 12, police say the same pair of men bound, beat and robbed the owner of the Mexico Lindo market on North Fourth Street. Both victims suffered head injuries. Police identified the suspects as illegal immigrants with prior local police contacts. The men may have fled to California or Mexico in a stolen white 1997 Chevy Truck with Arizona license plate TG6021.

Co-suspect is Jose Natividad-Ponce Herrera (see below).

AKA: Juan Esparza, Jose Hernandez, Ramon Herrera, Ramon Hernandez

CHARGES:

AGE: 36

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'7/150

NAME: Darcy Robert Whitacre

CHARGES: Aggravated assault.

AGE: 27

RACE/ETHNICITY: Native American

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'2/210

THE CASE: On May 29, 2002, Whitacre allegedly punched a passenger on a Greyhound bus. He told police, after being arrested at the Flagstaff bus station, that he hit the victim because the man was hitting his child. Witnesses said the attack was unprovoked. The victim possibly suffered a detached retina. Police described Whiteacre as a transient.

NAME: Francisco Javier Rivera-Ibarra

CHARGES: Attempted robbery

AGE: 32

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'6/125

THE CASE: On July 21, 2002, Rivera-Ibarra allegedly used a champagne bottle to club a clerk at Western Post Liquors in the head during what appeared to be a robbery attempt. The clerk said the man had been hanging around the store for about an hour, and when the clerk turned around, everything went black. He said he saw Rivera-Ibarra holding a bottle of champagne and the pair struggled. The fight continued outside, where a passerby helped restrain Rivera-Ibarra.

NAME: Rene Bejarano

AKA: Jose Renee Bejarano Bracamontes

CHARGES: Failure to register as a sex offender.

AGE: 33

RACE/ETHNICITY: Hispanic

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5'7/190

THE CASE: Bejarano was stopped for a traffic violation at East Route 66 and North Steves Boulevard on June 2, 2004. Bejarano was a registered sex offender (he was convicted of attempted sexual abuse in Coconino County) but a computer hit said "do not arrest," so he was released at the scene. The officer later learned that he was subject to an arrest for failing to register, and contacted him at his home. Bejarano reportedly said he should not be registered as a sex offender since he had only been arrested once, for drunk driving. A year later, police followed up with his wife and employer, but could not make contact with him.

NAME: Darrell Beno

CHARGES: Kidnapping, aggravated assault, unlawful imprisonment and assault.

AGE: 40

RACE/ETHNICITY: Native American

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: Unknown

THE CASE: On April 26, 2006, Beno allegedly beat his girlfriend inside their room at the Best Value Inn Motel in Flagstaff. The fight continued outside the room when the woman tried to get away. Beno allegedly pulled a knife on a bystander who tried to intervene. He was last seen fleeing toward McMillan Mesa. His last known address, according to reports, was in Pinon.
