Narcotics possession

A man was arrested for DUI, narcotics possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription drug possession on Friday at the Walmart on East Huntington Drive after police found him asleep with his car running.

While asking for the man’s driver’s license police noted track marks from needles on the man’s arms and stomach. Police then asked the man if he used heroin to which the man stated that he was six months sober.

When police arrested the man for a DUI they found heroin as well as a burnt spoon and tinfoil. Police also found a marijuana pipe and pills in the car, which the man said was his girlfriend’s car.

The man was identified as Matthew Matje.

Burglary

A man reported his laptop stolen from his apartment on the 1200 block of Riordan Ranch Street on Friday. The burglars went through the window, according to the police report.

--A man was arrested for second-degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was caught squatting in a home on the 2700 block of West Hogan Drive. The man told a Realtor that he was house sitting. When police arrived they found a marijuana pipe in the man’s possession. The man told police that he was not house sitting and found a spare key into the home.

The man was identified as John Ward.

Aggravated assault

A woman was arrested for aggravated assault after she pushed a woman with a walker in front of a bus at 3650 E. Route 66. According to the police report, the fight started when the woman with the walker knocked the woman’s soda out of her hand.

The woman with the walker was not hit by the bus, but did suffer a broken arm as well as a humeral head fracture.

Alice Moran was taken to the Coconino County Detention Facility.

DUI

--Brandon Bighorse was arrested for a DUI on Friday after leaving the scene of a car accident on the 300 block of South Regent Street. He did not consent to a breathalyzer test and was forced to allow a blood draw via a judge’s warrant.

--Gibson Benally was arrested for an aggravated DUI with a suspended license on Friday at the Walmart on East Huntington Drive. He had a BAC of 0.218 and 0.217.

-Gregory Burton was arrested for an extreme DUI on Saturday on the 1800 block of Route 66. He had a BAC of 0.168 and 0.170.
