A downed power line on West Route 66 caused traffic snarls and cut off power to about 3,200 customers for about an hour Thursday afternoon.

According to information from APS, the failure happened at about 1:39 p.m. The location was near the Radisson Woodlands Hotel at the bus stop on West Route 66. The boundary for the outage was Santa Fe Avenue to McConnell Drive and Woody Mountain Road to Sitgreaves Road. Power was restored at 2:27 p.m.

The cause of the failure is under investigation.
