It was a banner day for Flagstaff-area runners Saturday at the state cross country championships in Cave Creek. The Northland Preparatory Academy boys dethroned Hopi High in Division 4, ending Hopi's 27-year winning streak. The NPA girls took home the state championship team trophy, led by Maya Smith's fourth individual title. The Flag High boys and girls each defended their state titles for the third year in a row, and the Page boys won their fourth straight state title. The Coconino girls finished second in their division, the boys ninth.
