Sady Mae Hale Greer passed away at her home in Gilbert, Arizona on November 20th, 2017 ending a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Sady was born the second of three children to Ray and Annie Hale on January 2, 1934 in a one room home in  Nutrioso, Arizona where Ray worked on a sawmill. The Hale family later moved to a home in St. John’s where Sady grew up and attended school. Sady loved growing up in St. John’s where she was very active. She was a cheerleader her junior and senior year, she played the French horn in the school band, she was in the girls choir, school chorus, glee club, a baton twirler, and played the drum in the bugle corps. She did all of these things while working part time and maintaining her honor role status.

Later Sady attended secretary school in Glendale and became a skilled secretary who typed 105 words per minute and was exceptional at scripting using shorthand. She was a seamstress that made the clothing her children wore. She enjoyed crafting and visiting with neighbors and church friends. Sady loved going to church and she loved her family. It was very important to Sady to have visits and time spent with her family. Above all she loved her husband "Buddy" and even through her Alzheimer's showed him devotion and caring that was touching and an example to her family members.

Sady and Buddy raised 4 children in Flagstaff, Arizona where they spent forty years. In 1989 Sady and Buddy served a 3 year mission in San Antonio, Texas. Upon returning to Arizona, they relocated to Gilbert and spent their golden years traveling the world.

Sady was preceded in death 6 months ago by her husband Harold Edmond (Buddy) Greer, and is survived by her children Denise Koenig, Royce (Rhonda) Greer, Lynn Greer, and Leslie Kauo, as well as 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister Betty Hale Thurber and her Brother Lamar Hale.

Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 @11:00 at the LDS Church, 1483 N. Driftwood, Gilbert AZ  (please note this is not her home church building).   Viewing will be one hour prior. Her burial will be Monday, Dec. 4 at 1:00 PM at Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff.
