In her Sunnyside neighborhood she was broadly known as "La Abuelita" (little Grandmother). She was a tireless advocate for anyone in her neighborhood who was in need. She was always there to interpret at Doctor appointments, or help to navigate immigration forms and processes, or to provide shelter and food for all those she considered her "otra familia".
Upon retirement from the Flagstaff Unified School District in 2007 the kitchen at Sechrist Elementary School was dedicated as "Nana''s kitchen" in her honor by all of "her children" at the school.
Please join us in celebrating Nana''s life on December 9th starting at 10am
