Kathleen Ann Ibbs was born in Greenville, PA on Sept. 12th, 1952. She was the middle child of nine: 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 4 older, 4 younger. She met Larry Teller in 1977 in State College, PA while working as a waitress. They moved to AZ in May 1978. After moving to Flagstaff in 1983, Kate had a housecleaning business for years, until her health problems started. Kate was a loving wife and the mother of 2 beautiful girls, Melissa Vera and Rachel Alysun. For a rather small woman Kate had a big personality. Her loving generous and caring way was almost matched by her ornery side. She talked to everyone she came into contact with and usually tried to say something that would brighten their day. She was very outspoken in her opinions and thoughts. Kate had a big heart that was always wanting to help someone out or lend an ear or feed them. Physically her heart was not big but it was strong enough to carry her through the many medical problems she had the last ten or more years of her life. She did get tired of hearing doctors telling her she was complicated or rare or difficult. Kate’s last words to everyone she was saying good bye to were I love you. Kate was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa, her brothers and sisters Sheila, Pat, Tess, Mike and Bill. She is survived by her husband Larry, her daughter Rachel, her sister Penny (husband Rod), brother Tim, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Kate’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sat. March 1Oth at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. Kate would request that any donations be made to any organization that helps with mental illness and homelessness.
