Jennie Martinez Barreras Romero passed away peacefully on Jan 4th 2018. She was surrounded by her daughters and numerous family members. Jennie was born March 2nd 1931 in Magdalena, New Mexico to Louis and Carmelita Martinez. She lived in flagstaff until the time of her death. She was well known for her business ventures and as the Burrito lady. She would wake up daily and make more than 100 delicious burritos to sell to the many residents of flagstaff. Jennie is preceded in death by Parents Carmelita and Louis Martinez, Brothers Wilfred, Jimmy and Rudy Martinez, her Sister Stella Barreras and her son George Barreras. Jennie is survived by her daughters Carmen De La O (Johnny), Barbara Gonzales (Tony Gallegos), Rose Hernandez (Charlie), Lilly Price (Dana) as well as her brother’s Junior, Jake, and Max Martinez, her Sister’s Sarah Duran, Phyllis Martinez and numerous Nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jennie lived out her days amongst friends at The Peaks Senior living. She was well known for her playful personality and kind spirit. A memorial for Jennie will be held at The Peaks Senior living in Flagstaff on Thurs, Jan 25th at 2:00pm as well as a burial service in Reserve, New Mexico on Sat Jan 27th at 10:00AM.
