It is with a heavy heart and light spirit that we announce the passing of Jay Raymond Sulenski on November 29, 2017. He was born in South Korea December 11, 1947. Jay moved to Flagstaff in the seventies, and would often talk about seeing the peaks for the first time was also the first time he felt truly at home somewhere. He was lucky enough to remain here for the rest of his life.
Whether you knew him as a regular at Cattle Barons or from his 20 plus years service at the post office, or even just saw him as that very happy guy at the store, he touched the lives of many people in Northern Arizona and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and those who didn’t, more so. He is survived by two brothers Jeff and Jon, two grown children Babra and Louis Bruskin, grandson Bendid, granddaughter on the way and leaves behind countless friends whom will always remember their times with him as the most fun of their lives.
Though he will be sorely missed we hope his spirit of love and humility will live on each day, that those of us that did know him will love unconditionally all people we come into contact with, that we always practice compassion and empathy, especially when it is most difficult, and above all fill yourself with so much love and light and happiness that you leave no room for anything else.
Family and friends, who are able to attend, are welcome to join in Jay Sulenski’s celebration of life at The Weatherford Hotel on Saturday January 27th from 3pm to 7pm.
