Beth Clarene Ulrey, 81, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away Friday November 17, 2017 in Scottsdale. Clarene, a long-time resident of Flagstaff, AZ where she spent most of her adult life, worked in the healthcare administration field, and owned her own medical billing business, Professional Billing Service, for nearly 30 years. Upon her retirement in 1998, Clarene and her husband Jerry moved to the Phoenix area to be near their son’s family and grandchildren, and she stayed involved in the healthcare field by volunteering at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in North Phoenix. Clarene was an ambitious and successful small business owner, while at the same time maintaining a proper balance of her work and family life insuring that her husband, children and extended family were always well taken care of. Clarene was a devoted wife and mother, with her family being central to all that she did. She was also an avid gardener, homemaker, and loved to partake in the many outdoor leisure activities available to her in northern Arizona. Clarene was preceded in death by her husband Jerry who she helped care for until his death in 2012. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kim and Gary (Dunnington), son and daughter-in-law Jim and Anny, son Alan, her brother Sam, and grandchildren, Taylor, Jeremy, Kelsey, Spencer, Jaling, and Willie. We will miss her smiling face, wonderful laugh, delightful wit and constant devotion to all that knew her. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Clarene’s life on Saturday December 2, 2017, at 1:00 PM, at La Casa De Cristo Lutheran Church, 6300 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ.
