Barbara Lynn Schneiter Jackson of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2017 at Flagstaff Medical Center.
Barbara was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ on November 6, 1952, daughter of Edward and June Schneiter and sister to Jim, Rick, Sam and Bob Schneiter and Mary Busch. She grew up in Phoenix and graduated from Camelback High School. She moved to Flagstaff in 1980. She returned to Phoenix in 1989, to eventually settle back in Flagstaff.
Barbara was a retired court reporter for Coconino County, and a member of the Arizona Court Reporters Association. She served as their President (1999-2000) and received their Distinguished Service Award in 2009. An avid reader and music fan, she loved to travel to see her kids all over the country. Some of her travel adventures included a cross-country road trip with her sister Mary to research their family’s heritage, a rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon, and most recently a 5-week grand tour of Europe with her husband Ray. She loved horseback riding, camping, hiking, skiing and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 28 years, Ray Jackson, children Tim McMurray, New York, NY, Bryan McMurray, Oakland, CA, David White (Jessica), Flagstaff, AZ, Michelle Jackson, San Diego, CA and Ryan Jackson, (Lynne) Lake Tahoe, CA, and 3 grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 25, 2017, 1 PM – 4 PM, at the Zane Grey Ballroom, Weatherford Hotel, 23 N Leroux St in Flagstaff, AZ.
