Flagstaff Police are investigating two calls of shots fired. Police do not believe the cases are related; no one was hurt in the shootings.
According to police, officers responded to the first call around 9:45 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of West Coy Drive. A woman living in the home said she heard a knock at the front door and then possibly a gun shot. She woke up the other resident in the home. That person found the rear patio glass door had been shattered.
The residents also told officers that after they woke up they noticed a man run southbound in front of their home. The man was described as white, around six feet tall, wearing tan pants and possibly a tan shirt.
Officers found a live shell casing and an empty shell casing on the back patio. Bullet fragments were found inside the kitchen area near the glass from the shattered door.
About an hour later, at 10:59 p.m., officers responded to another shooting call in the 1900 block of North East Street. The resident of the apartment told officers that they were inside when they heard four to five shots.
They walked outside to see a small dark car speed away south on East Street. Officers found two spent shell casings in the street and found two bullet holes in a vehicle in front of the residence. A third bullet entered the apartment through a wall and struck a door.
