The Flagstaff Police Department has named Deputy Chief Daniel Musselman as interim chief of police while Police Chief Kevin Treadway serves as interim deputy city manager.
Musselman was hired by the department in 1995. He graduated from the Central Arizona Law Officers Training Academy and received the Duncan Memorial Award. He served four years as a patrol office before being promoted to corporal/detective.
As a detective Musselman received the Flagstaff City Managers Excellence Award twice for convictions in homicide cases.
Musselman served on the Tactical Operations Team for eight years. He is a past recipient of the Exchange Club Officer of the Year Award. He completed a term in the Professional Standards Office, and was promoted to lieutenant in 2007 and then to deputy chief in 2012.
Musselman has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Northern Arizona University. He has also graduated from the FBI National Academy.
