Two Chinle residents were arrested on second-degree murder charges following the death of a Winslow woman Tuesday morning.
According to information from the Winslow Police Department, officers responded at about 1:40 a.m. to the 700 block of West Oak Street on a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found Crystal Marie King, 32, down and unresponsive. She did not respond to medical lifesaving efforts and was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the course of the investigation, detectives found and detained two suspects -- Benjamin Yazzie, 37, and Rodcell L. Nez, 23 -- for questioning. The two were subsequently on charges of second-degree murder and booked into the Navajo County jail.
King's body was taken to Tucson for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
