The GIITEM anti-gang task force arrested 26 people today, including several in Flagstaff and Williams, in the wake of a seven-month investigation into illegal drug sales by street gangs.
According to information from the Arizona Deaprtment of Public Safety, agents served 17 search and arrest warrants in Coconino and Maricopa counties Wednesday.
Capt. Kirk Bryce of GIITEM in northern Arizona, said that the investigation involved buying drugs from gang members in Flagstaff and Williams who had purchased drugs from gang members in the Phoenix area.
The drugs involved were meth, cocaine, marijuana, marijuana paste called “wax,” ecstasy and prescription medications.
Agencies involved in the investigation included the FBI, Flagstaff Police Department, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, Williams Police Department, DEA, ATF, ICE and the U.S. Marshals Service.
