A Navajo Nation man has been federally charged with murder in connection with a shooting in Tuba City Monday.
According to information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Flagstaff, tribal officers responded to a home off Old Kerley Road in Tuba City on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim, called “R.B.” and “Hombre,” 47, in the driver seat of a GMC Safari van. He had been shot once in the head. The man who reported the shooting told investigators that he had been inside his home with his grandson when they heard a vehicle approach. His grandson went outside, and then he heard a single gunshot.
After a brief investigation, a suspect was arrested.
The victim was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center and placed on life support. He died Tuesday after he was taken off life support.
Randly Begay, no age listed, was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
