One of two suspects being sought in connection with a machete attack earlier this month has been arrested.
According to information from the Flagstaff Police Department, Andrew James Jaurequi, 19, was taken into custody at about 3 p.m. Thursday and booked into the county jail on a charge of attempted murder.
Jaurequi, who goes by “Applez,” was being sought in connection with an attack on a man on North Second Street. The victim told investigators that he was attacked by two drug dealers. He was badly cut on his face and his ear was nearly severed.
A second suspect, Louise Leyvas Sanchez, 28, who goes by “Sauce” is still on the loose. He is also wanted on a charge of attempted murder. He should be considered armed and dangerous and was last seen driving a blue early 1990s Cadillac, four-door sedan.
