A mutli-agency task force rounded up eight non-compliant sex offenders Friday in rural areas of Coconino County.
According to information from the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, the offenders were identified as being non-compliant after an audit of 18 known sex offenders living in neighborhoods in the greater Flagstaff area. They had failed to adhere to state law that requires sex offenders to report a change to their online "identifiers" of place of residence within 72 hours of that change. They also have to update the identifiers annually. A county grand jury issued warrants for the eight who were found to be in violation of state law. All eight were located and arrested by the task force.
