More than 65 people, including 25 past honorees, attended Tuesday’s awards luncheon at Little America celebrating this year’s Arizona Daily Sun Citizens and Organization of the Year.

Honored were Lora Trujillo, who was introduced by Nina Poore; Barry Brennan, who was introduced by Molly Munger; and the Friends of Northern Arizona Forests, introduced by Jim David.  Presenting the framed certificates of appreciation was Daily Sun Publisher Don Rowley.

The memory of two past Citizens of the Year who passed away in 2017 were honored. John Gisi was remembered by Bill Williams and Kay McKay by Jan Newton and Rich Haag.

The 2017 honorees were chosen by a committee of nearly two dozen former Citizens of the Year based on nominations by Daily Sun readers.
