The Mountain Spelling Bee has a new team champion.

The Dewey Decimal Divas, representing the Flagstaff Public Library, dethroned the Spellbinders, two-time defending champions, on the sixth word of the final, two-team spelloff Thursday at the High Country Conference Center.

Members of the winning team were Gail Reed, Jane Degher and AnnaDel Paxton.

Their winning word was "fabaceous."

The bee attracted 10 teams and nearly 300 attendees, who raised money for Literacy Volunteers of Coconino County and The Literacy Center.

For more on the bee and a photo, see the Community section in Sunday's Arizona Daily Sun.
