The National Weather Service in Bellemont reported nearly 1 inch of rain in some parts of Flagstaff Thursday and large hail in some areas.
The Weather Service considered the storm moderate and not greatly dangerous or destructive.
In Flagstaff, hail in half-inch and three-quarter-inch diameters fell in some areas. Shoppers at Sam's Club on Butler Avenue needed help shoveling away the hail in order to move their vehicles.

The U.S. Forest Service reported a tree fire on Mount Elden caused by lightning that was quickly contained by fire crews.
According to the Weather Service, there's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today after 11 a.m. A 30 percent chance of showers persists throughout the weekend.
