Two crashes late this afternoon on Interstate 40 west of Flagstaff are affecting traffic.

Sgt. Gary Phelps of the Arizona Department of Public Safety said the first crash occurred about 4:50 p.m. in the eastbound direction about 3 miles east of the Parks rest area. It involved two semi-trailers and a passenger car, and it has closed one eastbound lane. No major injuries are reported and traffic continues to move, but slowly.

A second accident is being reported by the Arizona Department of Transportation website as occurring about 5:15 p.m. in the westbound direction near the Parks exit ramp. Traffic has not been blocked and no further details were available.
