The public is invited to a free performance of Norwegian folk dances Tuesday when the Flagstaff Sons of Norway Lodge hosts the Stoughton High School Norwegian Dancers for an evening of cultural dance and colorful costume.

The Stoughton Dancers have been performing Norwegian folk dances since 1953. They are based in Stoughton Wisc., and have performed all over the country as well as internationally with more than 60 performances each year, winning many awards. Here in Flagstaff, the troupe will consist of 23 dancers ranging in ages from 13-18. Every performance presents authentic Scandinavian dances, gymnastics and a dash of humor highlighting the rich Scandinavian cultures and costumes of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

Tuesday’s performance will begin at 7 p.m., at the Sinagua Middle School auditorium, 3950 E. Butler Ave.
